Almost 2 years ago we made a deal with Layla. She could have cable TV, or she could take the money we would have spent on TV (for one month) and buy whatever she wants. She chose the money...and with the money? She decided she wanted to get her ears pierced!

We've been putting it off ever since then but on Sunday we finally gave in. She asked if she was allowed to cry and we said of course. There was only one girl working that day so instead of getting both ears done at the same time she had to sit through one at a time. She did great. I could tell it hurt, she turned a little red but kept a straight face.

Since then she will wear nothing but pony tails and loves to tell anyone who will listen about her newly pierced ears with the pink diamond flower earrings.

Here's Layla with her new look.

  1. Pink? But her birthstone is red! Stick it to the man, Layla.

  2. Cute. Little girls look cute with earrings. There's no rule that you have to wear your birthstone. Layla's definitely a 'pink' girl. Greg's looking good too.

  3. egads! Good for her! Charlie has zero desire to get her ears pierced.
    "Will it hurt?"
    She asks.
    "Yes."
    I tell her.
    And that is the end.
